Discover the highly awarded range of powerboats from Marex

Over four decades have passed since the first Marex Boat was launched in Norway. The Marex boatyard was established in 1973 in Grimstad, a small town on the south coats of Norway. The founder of Marex and General manager for over 20 years was Eyvin Aalrud.

The Marex boatyard quickly became a success thanks to the vision of Eyvin Aalrud. From the beginning Marex has remained a family company, gradually becoming one of the most well regarded and stable European boat manufacturers in the leisure boat market.

The company is today owned and run by the founder's two sons Espen and Thomas. Both brothers were born into the boat industry and are driven by a boundless passion for boating and the family business since they took over in 1989. Success has been achieved through excellent leadership, a focus on quality and consistent investment in advanced boat building technology.

Today the shipyard has expanded and is stronger than ever. Marex operates two factory facilities, one in Arendal, Norway and the other in Kaunas, Lithuania with the total production area being 13 000 sq. metres.

Marex is known all over Europe for its quality, longevity and durability. Having receiving multiple awards over the past decade supported by both customers and media alike is proof of that.

Presently Marex employs around 150 dedicated and skilled personnel and collaborates with the leading designers and experts in the industry. Marex manufactures complete luxury boats up to 12 meters, while presently the product range consists of models from 21 to 37.5 feet. The Marex global network of dealers ensures access to sales and support expertise throughout Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Uniqueness

02 - Uniqueness
A customer satisfaction survey conducted by Europe’s largest Boat magazine, the German Magazine Boot, asked close to 2 300 experienced boat owners to rank boat manufacturers regarding excellence in several important areas. Marex was ranked at the very top with regards to quality, finish, high second hand value and reliability.

The survey concluded that Marex boats feature first class craftsmanship, attractive design, excellent seaworthiness and practical solutions for the boat owner.

The Marex General Manager, Saulius Pajarskas, oversees 13 000 square meter production facility and 140 dedicated boat builders. Saulius' production philosophy is simple, “our boats have soul, we use better materials and components, we put in more hours, and we build boats we would like to have ourselves”.

Saulius also said, "Marex is not a mainstream industrial boat manufacturer, and that of course costs a little bit extra. We are not involved in mass production. In our boats, we have more standard equipment than many of our competitors. We sell boats to experienced boat lovers. It's like watches, everybody knows there is a difference between a Swatch and a Breitling."

03 - Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship

Marex develops and builds boats that can handle rough seas over long distances. Solid, stable manufacturing and flexible functions amount to exceptional seaworthiness; even under the most difficult conditions.

Quality and safety at sea have been trademarks of Marex products throughout the years. Since their establishment in the early 70s, they have perfected the combination of performance and function through innovative solutions.

Marex believes that the most important goal is to deliver the best boat to every customer. They want to exceed your expectations and give you a fantastic boating experience. All their boats are tested extensively on water before they leave the yard.

Their target is also to protect your investment by using the best components and the highest quality installations. They offer outstanding manoeuvrability, stable performance, high comfort and reliable operation. Marex will get you there safely – no matter what!

Quality

02 - Quality
Marex has today some of the boat industry highest second hand values. This is not achieved overnight, but by the very best long term aims and feedback from all our owners. Marex puts great effort into testing the boats, before delivery to our customers.

They have developed systems that enable them to ensure the customer’s 100% satisfaction. All Marex boats are tested on water before they leave the factory. Very few producers do.

This testing enables Marex to check all the onboard components through a comprehensive one-hundred-point audit; the electronic system, engine, heating system, lighting, and navigation and so on.

This process eliminates any production anomalies. The testing team is responsible for reporting all faults to the team leader in the production line.

Through this procedure the causes of anomalies are analysed and eliminated refining the whole production process. By doing this prior to handover of the boat, delivery is efficiently expedited and waiting time is reduced.

There are indications that Marex owners are happier than most other boat owners. Their focus on maritime quality, performance and seaworthiness for over 40 years, has given them a solid reputation on the used boat market. People pay for quality – perhaps especially on the used market.

So Marex boats keep their value better than most of their esteemed competitors. And that is perhaps why many of their customers are “regulars” and repeat clients. Many grow with them, and switch to the latest model in the full knowledge that they get one of the market’s safest boats. Welcome to the world of Marex Boats!
