Whether you’re planning to cruise the coastline or have guests on board for the day, a Gulf Craft Ambassador 42 like this offers a great balance between entertaining and practicality – there’s almost no compromise.
Offering a three-cabin, two-head layout with a spacious cockpit and a well-proportioned flybridge, the Gulf Craft Ambassador 42 is a winning design.
The interior of this Gulf Craft Ambassador 42 offers a seamless sense of luxury from the high-gloss natural cherrywood timber work, the light-coloured leather lounges and dining area, cream carpet to the polished stainless-steel features and fittings throughout.
On the main deck, the aft cockpit area features a forward-facing lounge that, when partnered with a folding table and free-standing chairs, would comfortably seat six guests under the shade of the flybridge overhang. It’s the perfect spot for those lazy afternoon lunches on the water.
As you step into the plush saloon, the layout features a lush oval-shaped lounge to the right with an elevated dining area to the left and galley with fridge, sink, cooktop and microwave behind. Forward is an elevated lower helm station offering great visibility for the skipper and co-pilot and a fully featured dash that has all the controls within arm’s reach.
Down a few steps towards the bow of the boat, to port is a cabin with a single berth, to starboard to another cabin with twin single berths and forward you will appreciate the master cabin with an island double berth and private ensuite. There is also a second bathroom.
The upper deck flybridge offers seating for two at the helm, six on an L-shaped lounge and a sun pad for another two at the rear. A complete bimini and clears package around the flybridge will extend your boating season into the cooler months and provide protection from the heat of the sun in summer.
The upper helm station enjoys a complete duplication of the lower helm’s instrumentation including the Raymarine chartplotter/sounder and autopilot. The feel of the Cummins electronic shift/throttle controls cannot be praised too highly, offering ease of operation and positive control.
Access to the engine room is via a deck hatch in the cockpit floor and provides the ability to conduct your general checks and visual inspections before you head out. Adjacent is access to the lazarette which, apart from offering good storage space is the location of the generator, air-conditioning systems and batteries.
